Our annual Laura Contest is designed to encourage girls (ages 8 through 11) to compete for the honor and recognition of being most closely identified with Laura Ingalls Wilder.

While not a look-alike contest, girls are required to dress in “prairie girl” attire (of the period 1867-1875) and are asked questions related to Laura’s first two books. They are judged on the basis of the accuracy of their answers, poise under various conditions, and their general appearance.

Here are the 2014 Winners

8 yr old winner is Florentina Hernandez from Madison, WI
9 yr old winner is Gretchen Preston from Eleva, WI
11 yr old winner is Shaelee Paul from Menomonie, WI
