Our annual Laura Contest is designed to encourage girls (ages 8 through 11) to compete for the honor and recognition of being most closely identified with Laura Ingalls Wilder. While not a look-alike contest, girls are required to dress in “prairie girl” attire (of the period 1867-1875) and are asked questions related to Laura’s first two books. They are judged on the basis of the accuracy of their answers, poise under various conditions, and their general appearance. |
