Fundraising is a very important part of the Peppies undertakings so they can continue their work of bringing people together and supporting the Pepin community. You will see the Pepin Peppies chili booth at Laura Days, so please stop by to say hello and purchase a warm bowl of savory goodness from them!

The Pepin Peppies is a local community club whose mission is to mobilize volunteers to participate in projects, events and outreach activities that encourage community camaraderie, connect people of all ages, and make Pepin a better place to live.

The Peppies were very active in Pepin during 2024, which was their first full year of incorporation! They came together to support our school children with several bins of donated mittens, coats, boots, hygiene products, extra clothing, and school supplies for the school supply closet. And, they entertained the kids in the Pepin school district by sponsoring a Trunk-or-Treat event on Halloween and an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter weekend.

The Peppies also sponsor the annual Flags of Honor event in early August in the Laura Ingalls Wilder Park, where community members are invited to dedicate individual American flags in appreciation for the heroes who have supported our country in the Armed Services.

The first annual Pepin Day was another Peppies project in 2024. With the help of the Pepin Lion’s Club and Pepin’s Emergency Services crews, the Peppies put on a day of fun, food, music and refreshments for the local community and anyone else who wanted to join in the festivities. Everyone agreed that Pepin Day was a rounding success!

In September 2024, the Peppies became the host group of Laura Ingalls Wilder Days. Under the Peppies, Laura Days will benefit from strong leadership and an expanded volunteer base.

A very special Peppies project is planned for 2025 and beyond. The WWII veterans memorial sign in the Laura Park, which has fallen into disrepair, will be updated and expanded to include the local veterans of other wars and conflicts.
